So I have noticing that on all of my patches I have been getting a lot of noise when I move the 5 way or the volume. The is even after i have cleaned with Detox D5. Any thing you can think of to do.
Turn off all noise gates for these questions:
Is there noise with the guitar volume all the way off?
With the guitar volume all the way up, when you touch the strings does the noise get louder or quieter?
Post a recording of the volume knob movement noise, you might just need to replace the pot if Deoxit isn't working.
Ill try to get a recording. It happens on multiple guitars. I make noise when the volume knobs is moved as in rolling the volume down. Also if I change the pickup selector. It like some thing is really hot and only started after the last update.
Try a different, known good 1/4" instrument cable.
Also try a restore of the previous OS from a backup and see if the issue persists. (Make a current full backup prior to this so you can restore to current if desired)
All of these above are great suggestions! I will add.
I will second that turning down the guitar volume to zero while plugged in, with a known working cable will help address if the guitar(s) are the issue or the preset. If it still makes noise, try another cable, sometimes multiple cables unfortunately have issues. If it persists across all cables, try the firmware methods listed above.
Also check your input sensitivity, you may need to adjust that to eliminate the noise.
If it is the guitar you may need new volume pots, one of my Tele’s I wore the volume pot out in multiple times over the span of 5 years , it happens, it can be inconvenient, but it’s the nature of the potentiometers we all put in guitars.
