Noise added when effects are switched on in amp's FX Loop

Hey guys,

I've noticed something when effects are placed into the FX Loop of my amp. When they get switched in and out I get like a hum from the effected signal. Effects like chorus, delay or trem. Effects that are gong thru the front end so like drive or phaser wok fine. No noise added when switched in or out.

Any ideas what this could be happening?

It looks like I've manage to find the noise. It turned out to be a ground loop. I'm using a couple of RJM switchers with my Boogie amps. A Switch Gizmo to change channels and reverb and also an Effects Gizmo which has 2 pedals in its loops and I have a VL power supply underneath my Pedaltrain board. I'm plugging in the FX8 to the courtesy AC jack on the VL and that's what is causing the ground loop. I've had to add a Boss NS-2 which is getting rid of the noise.
