Well, I picked a mahogany/flamed maple one of these up used a few months ago with a floyd rose. I hate floyds, always have, but I thought I could deal with it for just one guitar. Turns out it bothers me too much (I change tunings kind of a lot) so I grabbed one of these from The Music Zoo in NY.
This one has an alder body/ burled poplar top, and I think I like that combo of woods a bit more for the style I play. Hipshot hardtails are my favorite bridge piece so all good there. I was an EMG 81/85 guy for years but since trying the Fishman modern fluence set I'm a total convert, I love them!
I'm waiting on some strings so I can downtune and final set up it, but with standard strings in drop A it's playing and sounding great!
