I've been playing a strat for 15 years or so and never really had the opportunity to bond with a Les Paul after various tries. Today I got a hold of one through a friend. It has the mini humbuckers... a 2001 model guitar. Man I plugged it into the Axe FX II this afternoon and found some heaven. I'm hooked.... now I know what tones and sustain I've been missing. Don't see too many of these guitars around ; interesting that online research I did suggests that the pickups are a bit on the bright side and more articulate in comparison to full size humbuckers....After playing today all I would say that its perfect for the Axe FX II due to the variety of amps and effects to match up. Noticeably different chemistry from my Clapton signature strat (even with the mid boost and lace sensors)
