From the photo that looks like a wraparound bridge, how are you liking it as far as intonation goes?

John,

I have always liked the PRS Wraparound bridge and with '10's (I use D'Addario in general) the intonation is spot-on. I use Tone Pros locking studs on all my stoptail PRS guitars (have since they were invented).

For those that don't know, I've a long history using PRS guitars and have owned quite (!!!) a few of them over the years. I am finding that as I get older, I just want what I know works. There's one more PRS I want; a DGT with a trem. Then... with my stoptail PRS Custom 22, this SC and that guitar... I'm (hopefully?) done. ;) (*Also have the Melancon Custom Artist I had Gerard build me in 2004).

My Tyler JTV-59 USA Prototype is getting a serious look as going on the block; but it has some finish/wear issues that have to be addressed before it goes. That's my next task; finding a quality Les Paul type of guitar (and I favor PRS's take on that from this period) was important before I could pull the JTV-59 USA out of my gigging schedule. This guitar shown above is the one I was looking for.

Just for fun, here's the original 2001 SC Artist Quilt I owned back in 2001 that I hoped this "new (to me)" one could replace all these years later (and it does FWIW)... though, my first one from back then was a real looker if you dig quilt tops:

Do you no longer need for for your "stunt guitar" work?

I do the acoustic thing with the PRS (no piezo) with a tone match block that I worked out. It's slick. In fact tonight was the maiden voyage for the guitar and gigging; it was an acoustic gig. It was great. Crazy? Sure. Real enough though.

No surprise. I don't use the piezos on my Parkers anymore, either. At least until I get 13-pin interfaces added. ;)

I love the SC's. I have one 2003 (Pre) and 1 2007 (Post) - obviously nothing changed on the design since Gibson lost the lawsuit. They both play great, the only real difference is in finish. The 2007 is a 10 top and has the birds and adjustable stop, the 2003 has a really cool silver sparkle finish though. I play the silver one a bit more, just because I'm tired of putting new marks in the beautiful finish on the red one. Here's a few pics I snapped as I am heading out the door to practice this morning, for the gear porn inclined...

Oh man, I have 6 Custom 24's as of today, but I'm really gassing for a 22 with a hard tail. Floating terms are a pain when they don't return to pitch correctly.
