Newbie needs help with recording

Hi,

I am thinking of buying an Axe FX primarily for recording, but, I have a question. Obviously I can plug a guitar into the Axe FX, USB into the Mac and record that way like I do now with my Line 6. However, if I want to mic up and record my acoustic guitar, I'm assuming I'd need a small separate desk to do that as the Axe FX appears to have no XLR inputs. If so, would my monitors go out of the Axe FX or the separate desk? If there is already a thread about this, a link will suffice!

Any help is appreciated :)

That's great man but I need to connect two mics (one valve, one pencil). Maybe the two channel mic pre would be the way to go?

Ok, I think I've sussed it. I'm thinking about a Behringer MIC2200 for being able to record with microphones. I know it might not be the greatest thing out there but it's cheap and goes in a rack. If I'm reading the manual correct, OUT 1 L+R will go to my monitors. USB goes to Mac and IN/OUT 2 L+R will connect to the IN/OUT of the preamp. Is this right?
