New user first attempts at patches uploaded, a few questions

Hey everyone. These are the first patches that I have produced with my new standard. Help me out here, let me know what you think, if you hear something that could be improved or have advice to further my patch quality please let me know! I tried to match some sounds of songs and bands that I particularly like, however I really don't even know the specifics of what gear they use, everything was pure ear.....and may of them I took the liberty to change the sounds just because I felt like it. I have never used an effect other than reverb in my life until I got this Axe-FX 2 days ago, so I have a hard time identifying effects in songs and pulling hard parameters out of them.

I play a Suhr Classic, Alder body, Maple Neck, Braz Board, SS frets, HSS config.....can't recall the pups, so that is the base 'tone' that I am starting with in dialing in these patches.

However I'd like to eventually get some patches to nail these tones exactly, or as near as possible, so any help is very, very much appreciated, especially in figuring out what these artists actually use themselves, since I really don't know. I could use alot of help tweaking my noise gate settings, as you will probably see.

Everything is done in the Axe-FX for me, I play through a HPR122i, so the patches include everything through the mic and some room simulation reverb on the end in some cases.

1: My attempt at getting the tone in EVH's Eruption. Not totally sure what he even used in there but I love that tone for soloing. I figure that the amp modeled after his was a good start point, but I have no idea what cab and speaker combo he used, nor the mic, nor specific settings for the effects. I like how it sounds so I will probably keep it anyways, but I think I'd also like to have a patch on hand that nails it as close as possible, so there is room for improvement.

2: My Attempt at getting the tone form Judas Priest's Breaking the Law. I like the song, and it's probably my favorite tone for that style and era of music. I think mine is a bit off, worked on it for a while today and moved on to some others, so I'll have to keep working. I have zero clue what Priest's guitarists played through on that album, so maybe that is whats holding it back.

3: My attempt at getting an 'average' tone representative of Kings of Leon's work prior to 'because of the Times'. It is slightly more overdriven than most of their songs but that is because I prefer to keep the guitar volume down a bit so there is some flex room to turn up during solos. It's pretty off, but I do like it. Their tone is one of the ones I have had the hardest time getting with any amp I've owned. Not so sure what they use either.

4: A clean tone that I created intending to mimic Interpol, mostly stuff on 'Turn on the Bright Lights'. Probably my favorite clean tone ever, aside from my late GainStar...which is sadly sold, but the Axe was a better choice in the long run. I again have zero idea what their guitarists play through but I thought this sounded good. I'm guessing they use AC30, but I love the matchless sim so I used that. Not sure if the delay belongs in there. I used the compressor to get more sustain than is found anywhere on that album, but it reminds me of my GainStar so I like it.

5: A rather poor attempt at getting the tone from Judas Priest's Electric Eye. There is something going on in there I don't have enough experience with to identify and replicate. Would definitely love some help on this one. I think it sounds ok as it is, but I still would like to get that tone from the song down.

6: Lastly, a simple open crunchy plexi patch. I used to have an Ecstasy, and I loved the plexi mode, with a bite to it, yet not compressed yet, so it had a really open, airy ring to it. This is the closest I have gotten so far. I've had a hard time dialing out the top end fizz or whatever but I got pretty close here. Any advice would be great.

Anyways, thanks for looking!!! Hopefully these are something people haven't posted yet, or at least contribute in some way.

Here are some tones that I plan on attacking next, so if you have some advice on where to start, what these artists use, anything like that, let me know!!

-Foo Fighters; 'The Color and the Shape', and 'Foo Fighters'
-Audioslave/RATM...Tom Morello's tone
-The new Incubus album....
-Iron Maiden; Number of the Beast in particular
-Kings of Leon, their more recent tone from Because of the Times
-Muse; Absolution
-Any tone that I could use to play some Nine Inch Nails covers...a huge stretch for me having no familiarity with effects
-Yngwie Malmsteen
