What is the +PlusPack? It's two banks in download zip file.

Here' a YouTube DEMO for you. Austin guitarist Dave Scher will be playing them for you in that demo. (Dave is almost out on tour with EJ, for the coming G3 tour with Vai and Satriani. He's a monster guitar player. We had fun -- in a "That Pedal Show" kind of way -- checking these out, as you'll soon see, will post below when out of production/editing!).

Some tips watching these videos: Change the YouTube screen settings (cog wheel) video quality settings to 720p or higher instead of 360 (sometimes defaults low to that) for better picture resolution.
If you visit YouTube to watch, if you look at the README there at the bottom you can click SHOW TRANSCRIPT and you'll get a list of time markers in top right screen for the different amps and where they are in the show.
Last, it will sound best through good studio speakers or headphones, not a laptop...

The +PlusPack 2024 BANK 1 is over 90 amp-based presets and 350 scenes of cleans dialed in for single coils -- Strats and Teles specifically -- dialed-in LOUD and LIVE at over +92db for stage and gig use. The clean presets cover various vintage and Boutique amps, Fenders, Marshalls, Voxes, Mesa Boogie, clean Preamps and some other goodies included.

Each amp preset uses both factory cabs and DynaCabs (so you can compare) and has a mid or flatter option for a Strat or Tele. Presets use my CS2 to CS6 amp controller system that LiveGold and Naked Amps users are familiar with, and these clean presets are great drive and effects pedal platforms too.

Also included are a few presets for real acoustic guitars (piezos) as well as two "make my Strat or Tele into an Acoustic" presets.

BANK 2 has the new amp models added by Fractal to the firmware last year . This is how users of LiveGold and Naked Amps will get access to future amp updates - through the +PlusPack.

Will still annually update (for free!) LiveGold and Naked Amps TonePacks for the existing amp presets in those of course. Bank 2 is only half full, but at the rate Fractal Audio is adding new amps, a year from now it may well be full!

Below are the quick tutorials (three parts) I did in one big take ("down and dirty baby!") this weekend on the +PlusPack.

Hope you guys like it -- this TonePack came about as a result of a Fractal Forum poll we did two years ago on what ya'll wanted to see next (I show that in the Part 1 video...)

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

As always, I put any new TonePack on sale for at least a month when releasing.

Cheers - and maybe see some of you at NAMM Show later this week! -AB

PS... My next 2024 projects are to update LiveGold by Spring, and to keep working on a new "FX Warehouse" TonePack (block library).

just wondering....when you say "dialed-in LOUD and LIVE at over +92db for stage and gig use", at what distance from the speaker are you measuring this?

I am at my studio desk with the FRFR speakers about 12-14 feet away from me, behind me, on the floor (not wedge, not mounted) when I measure. One of the videos has a shot of the speakers.

It’s not measured right in front of the speaker, it’s more like measuring from the front of a small stage.

thanks! i often hear people say we should create presets at louder volumes, but seldom do they mention what distance theyre measuring from. i think ive uncovered another problem w fine tuning my presets. im too quiet. ive been measuring volume about 3' away.

much appreciated

Think about playing on a stage... be at least 6 feet away from the FRFR you'd use -- and measure the db loudness from where you are playing, standing in front of your FRFR. You don't HAVE to play at 92db once you do this -- you just want to program the sound and save it at +92-94db level so you KNOW it will sound good turned up -- you'll feel the bass change fast as you get louder - this helps that. You'll also see why you need MIDS for stage work, to cut through in a band mix context.

As an FM9 owner, I'll have to wait for the FM9 version to come out. I haven't watched the videos yet so I'll have to dig into those when I get a chance. Specifically for single coils you say? No humbucker love in these presets? I'm sure they can be tweaked but I only have 1 guitar (HSS) with single coils at the moment.

I assume the FM9 version will also have an introductory price?...
Looking forward to watching the videos...🍿

Hi @guitarno:

Bank 1 is mostly just 90+ clean amps designed for single coils, BUT you can turn off the Filter1 Block (kicker coil) and use hum-buckers with it no problem. You may have to adjust amp tone controls some if your hum-buckers are darker than vintage style ones sound.

Bank 2 is LiveGold/Naked Amps 2023 new amp model updates - those are all dialed in for hum-buckers mainly.

As an FM9 user I am stoked for this , I have the original Naked amps and they were killer
Is there a list you can post of the bank 2 amps
I am guessing the JVM Satch
MarkV, 5153 stealth , the JMP 2203/ 04 , Silver Jubilee
That’s all I can recall

Hi @Randalljax

I haven't updated the Silver Jubilee in +PlusPack, because it's already in LiveGold and Naked Amps and it will get updated in those instead this year. But yes- any NEW added amp model is included. I did do both the 2203 and 2204 too. I'll try to post a screen shoot from manual here of what's Bank 2 soon...

Are the FM9 & FM3 versions "Bundled" (Included) with the AxeIII version? If so, maybe I'll buy "In Anticipation" too. FM9 was just updated to 6.00 (Beta), so I assume it won't be too long before @austinbuddy updates this pack for the FM9.

Yes - EVENTUALLY your zip download file will have all three hardware unit versions.
The FM3 may be slightly different for CPU reasons, we’ll see.

I need the FM9 new 6.0 firmware to be final release (not beta) before I convert.

And I am off to NAMM this week and gone all next week too, so the week of Feb. 5th for FM9 version to get added in to zip download probably…

Previous packs were bundled so that’s why I did it. If that’s not the case, whoopsie, my bad.
No whoopsie - you are quite correct.
It’s all timing, stuff I can’t control - but everyone who buys the +PlusPack will eventually get all three versions - Axe-FX III, FM9, and FM3 - in their zip download file, just like LiveGold has.

Yeah man, appreciate you. Just showing my support. More than happy to wait a few more weeks!

Really looking forward to the Live Gold update too!
