Bug? New Macbook Pro's not recognizing AXE-FX as audio interface?

Just got a new Macbook Pro (15in. w/ touchbar if that helps), and for some reason the AXE-FX isn't sending the correct product ID over USB. I figured out that if I unplug the USB from the new Macbook and plug it into my old one then plug it back into the new Macbook, it will get recognized correctly? Is there a setting or known bug regarding this? Does anyone have a fix without having to plug into an older mac then back into these new ones to get it correctly communicating? I've attached screen shots from the system information system report for the USB section of the new mac. You can see the new mac initially sees the AXE-FX as product ID 0x0003, but after doing the plug into old mac then back into this new one, it correctly gets the ID as 0x8003. The location ID also changes from 11 to 9. Hoping there's a simple settings fix for this!
