A GM of one of the top tourist hotels approached me for a contract (year) at his hotel. I did a Harley Davidson dealership end of the year gig and the GM who is a rider caught my show. I have a trio and working in great female singer too, though I could manage without her.
The last hotel contract I had was almost 8 years ago and lasted 10 years renewed annually. It was a mega resort with family type attractions with water park, mini golf, beach games and club mates contracted locally and internationally. 4 nights a week by the main water park and play courts area. I had a full 6 piece band.
Large bands are still around but very few now as duos and trios are the business favorites.
Any latest insights on what to look for? And in general has any thing changed regarding these types of gigs? Negotiations? Perks? ..or disadvantages?advantages for entertainers? Gear insurance....etc
Agencies are not utilized in my area btw.
