New DynaCab™ Pack - York Audio 4x12 Recto

If you did Paypal it takes the Fractal system a little while to recognize payment was received.
I used Paypal.
In CL, went to Tools>cab pack manager and it was there for download straight away. I have used Paypal before so maybe once used, it remembers buyer?
Can't wait to try this out.

this pack sounds incredible, got the chance to play around with it this weekend and it booted my legacy cab stack, which I thought sounded excellent already.

I just stumbled upon this thread, being a long time York Audio user myself :-)

Since the DynaCabs rolled out to Fractal devices I haven't hardly used any 3rd party IRs. So 39$ is pretty hard to argue with myself...I didn't even found YT videos with audio demos, nor is there anything on YA's website.

The YT video on page 6 is private. Is there any chance on hearing something with this pack? Or comparing it with the Fractal stock Recto DynaCabs?

Thank you very much!

That video works fine for me...

Yep, I contacted him directly and he changed the video to "unlisted" (hope I'm allowed to say that)...

Just bought the cab pack :-) Curious on how it differs from the stock Recto cabs in Fractal's current firmware.

With all the mic and mic placement options, you can open up a lot more frequencies in the spectrum. It's akin to having a Ferrari with a governor and then someone takes it off and you feel the power that it was meant to have.

@York Audio

Hey Justin, how are things going with respect to additional dyna cabs?
Looking forward to things to come.

Hoping for a
-greenback Marshall cab pack m20/m25/kw
-bogna cab v30 pack
-v30 marshall cab (which surprisingly never came out as a regular IR package (will settle on an Orng/fman but I favor the 1960.

All the best

To be honest and transparent, I've been dealing with some ADHD option paralysis when it comes to committing to starting a new cab, but I have plans to start making more DynaCabs in the near future. They probably won't be as mic-intensive as the Mesa OS, but they'll still have a nice amount of options to give everyone a wide variety of tones without being overwhelmed by the mic selection. Every attempt is a learning process. :)

Here's the regular IR pack of a Marshall 1960 cab with V30s if you're interested.

that's right. total brain fart - not sure why I didn't think of that pack. 2am maybe. Thanks so much for the response.

edit: btw, it's not that your packs are lacking anything. It's simply a new method to the madness.
Formerly I would just pick a great tone. when mixing, I would apply eq if needed. Now it's more of moving the mics as the mix is being done. Instead of applying eq, I can just move the mics to get it where it needs to be. It really helps when adding those final layers of guitars.

@York Audio , Is there an IR pack of yours that you still prefer over the Dynacabs?
That's a good question, and it all comes down to the user's preference and workflow. The DynaCabs offer a lot of flexibility and positive benefits, but I mainly use my normal packs simply because I know them well and already picked out my favorite mics and mic placements. That may change though. I have a list of suggestions for Cab Lab 4 and the DynaCab capturing software I need to send to the Fractal team that I think would take everything to a new level. We'll see what happens and if any of them can be implemented.

I admittedly have been using your $1 Mesa cab sample 57 and 121 (separate i.r's) because they really opened the sound up. Is there anything else you'd recommend that's kind of a one stop shop cab for a variety of applications like Clean Spanky country to a more liquid fusion tone? I don't play low tuning or chugging metal lol

If country clean is more your thing and you like Justin's take on things, I would lean this way.

I think Justin's rectifier and zila stuff is top notch.
MES 212 V30
MES 412 TRAD
BOGNA 412
ZILA 212

I'd say the YORK 212 M65 Cream or the KW 412 M25-SH would probably be a good fit for what you're wanting. I've had emails from top country artists and renowned fusion players about how much they love both of those cabs (as well as pop, rock, and metal players). They're both versatile cabs that sound great with anything you throw at them.

Will there ever be a York Audio IR loader, Mixer?

thank you! I’ll consider those then. Lastly, do you have a preference on running your IR’s at standard or ultra-res in the cab block?
