New Cab Day! Avatar Contemporary 212

Hey Fractalites!

Well the gear for my live rig is slowly rolling in! The first thing to arrive has been my Avatar speaker cabinet. I'm living in Idaho and these guys are up North in Coeur d'Alene. So instead of going with a big company I decided to go local. I still haven't played through it as the other parts of my live rig are still en route (Mesa 290, full tube replacement for 290, 6-space Gator Rack, Voodoo Labs GCP), but my initial impressions of the cosmetics of the cab are "damn nice"!

The packaging it came in was burly as all get out and while the cabinet is very large (it is even a touch bigger than an Orance PPC212), the weight is not bad at all and is very evenly distributed. Easy to pick up and carry around. I'm young yet and I lift weight train, so YMMV. The cab weighs right around 65 pounds and is loaded with 8 ohm Vintage 30s which are my go to speaker. Everything is super tight, all the outside components are in perfectly solid shape, and the black on black with white piping and lettering is just 100% classy. It also has that "brand new cab smell" - hahaha.

I should have my rig assembled and rarin' to go by this Friday morning (I have the whole freaking day off so I'm going to throw down), so I'm excited to hear this thing in action. YUM! Here is the good stuff (gear porn woohoo!):
