Need help using M-Audio Fast Track Pro with Ultra

I finally hooked my Ultra up to my PC today. The way I've connected is as below:

Ultra -> M-Audio Fast Track Pro thru MIDI cables -> PC thru usb

I have gotten the Ultra talking to PC through Axe Edit.

Axe Edit is recognizing my hardware. I am able to control Ultra through my PC / Axe Edit. The only issue I am having is this: When I hook up my headphones to the interface, there is no sound (playback). How do I get sound in thru the interface headphone jack?

MIDI doesn't transmit any sound. MIDI just transmits data. You need to plug in an xlr cable into the fast track, like if you were gonna record. I think you may need to have your recording software up also.

There is a headphone jack available on the MIDI interface though. Shouldn't I just be able to connect my headphones to it and listen to the playback?

I don't think so. I've never heard of anything being able to play MIDI in sound form like that. Unless it was a keyboard and even then I'm doubtful. Does the MIDI interface have a balanced or unbalanced input/output on it?

You will have to connect the Ultra's outputs (OUT1) up to the audio inputs on your Fast Track if you want to hear sound out of those headphones. MIDI does not contain any audio at all. You need a separate pathway (XLR or std guitar cables) for that.
