Need CREED "What if" patch help...

Hey guys...! I'm new to the Axe II, and I'd like to create a patch to get the sound that Mark Tremonti has on "What If"...particularly at the end of the song, it sounds alot heavier there than it does in the beginning. But at any rate...I'm not sure where to start??? I've heard some AMAZING recreations of sounds, but how do you know where to start for a particular sound??? Does anyone out there already have something like this? Also I'm using active EMG's in a Yamaha RGX Custom if that matters...thanks for the help!

i think he was using rectos then, he usually combines 2 amps nowdays... i'd start with the recto vintage (orange) and a boost, ts808 for the end part for that little extra. or a combination of a recto and uberschall, or just the uber. either one should get you close.
