I've never seen before a poll for multiband distortion.

Multiband split the signal into "n" frequency, each one is processed separately, then mixed togheder.

Source audio split the signal in 10 band (according to their paper).

Another approach is split a signal int 2 or 3 band and let user take controll of frequencies, distortion type for each band...

  • The number of bands(s) could be user uselectable or fixed.[/*:m:kgpkg2wi]
  • The frequencies could be user selectable or predefined.

  • The distortion types could be user selectable or predefined.[/*:m:kgpkg2wi]

Question...

Can you get there today? We have two crossovers... doesn't that get you three bands? And then two amp sims and maybe a drive block to make the three distortions?

Or am I not understanding your idea?

Standard owner here: no crossover, no multiband compressor. I think 3 band could be good, but more bands means less intermodulation, that is "clarity" on complex chord.

Distortion type could be simpler algos than actual one. Distortion block have already eq, Cliff could start adding some nonlinearity in each band.
