Wish Move All Blocks Freely ( Block Insert / Multi-Block Move and Blocks Retain Connection )

Hi all,

This was mentioned and confirmed not to exist.

Platform: AXE FX III

Issue: When an existing patch is complex, it is unnecessarily time consuming to insert an additional block.

Wish:

1. Enable mouse to highlight, select target blocks and enable block drop and drag movement.
2. Right click mouse between blocks or on a block; menu pops up to enable capability to insert single block.

Thanks in advance

You can move a whole row or column of blocks by clicking on the little handle at the bottom of each column or on the left side of each row and dragging it in Axe Edit, but it often deletes the cable connections between blocks when doing so. Would be great if those connections could be maintained. Multi-block copy and paste would be another great addition too.

As Mr. Fender said, you can accomplish most of what your asking already. I do this all the time. If you drag a "whole" column and drop it where you want it works fine, mostly!

Of course, moving a single column is well known.
Not useful typically...if you have existing blocks to the right, they get overwritten and there is no Undo.

Maybe Multi-block copy is one way to state it, but better to state "a Multi-block move (vice copy) which also moves existing blocks to the right".
But for this request, if it's easier to code one block insert and move right, that will do for now.

If cables stayed that would be great, but just really need to move multiple columns at once.

I use it all the time and have never seen a block overwritten, they move aside.

There is selective undo available by using the Snapshot tool. Click the “camera” button when you first start editing, then again when you want want to be able to return to that particular instance of the preset, make changes, and if you don’t like them reload a previous snapshot. When you are finished editing save the changes. And if you want to permanently save a particular snapshot, open the snapshot folder and load the exported preset. It works nicely.

To the top for others who haven't seen it.

Please +1 etc to get this implemented.

TLDR:

With rigs becoming large and complex, a select and move multiple blocks while they also
maintain their connections editor update would allow for speedy moves, testing of FX and changes.

Adding a one level Undo with be a bonus too.

It's been asked by Fractal in the past that we don't bump our own wishes...

They already track and prioritize wishes.
