Most Underrated guitar solos of all time

This one should be unknown to most: TRUST - L'élite.
Solos at 0:32 and 1:25 and main one at 1:55.

IMHO, this one is underrated :
Starts at 2:48

It fits nicely with the no fun theme. Like it.

Rory Gallagher - Kid Gloves - from his last studio album (already 22 years ago my god!)
First solo around 3:10, second around 4:40

Not his 2 best solos, but they are indeed to me :mrgreen

Mark Knopfler - Don't You Get It
The ending solo/rhythmic line starting at 3:30

That one I freaking love it :mrgreen

I was trying to remember the name of a tune on Mark Knopfler's Golden Heart to mention. It's got a beautiful singing, likely Les Paul, tone on the outro which I just love.

Katie's Song/Larry Carlton, Sound see Preset #?? in Axe Fx II
And your bird can sing, Beatles (try to play this on one guitar, be king of doublestops :))

I think Brent Hinds from Mastodon doesn't always get the credit he deserves. Mastodon may be a metal band, but I hear a lot of classic and prog rock in their album: Crack the Skye.

Listen to the solo of The Czar and I hope you understand what I mean!

Forgot Rory! and Mark! Thanks!

Rick Derringer on the live version of Jump Jump jump. The main solo and outro solo are great.

Steve Miller - 'Evil' - the Joker

Fantastic blues solo. Great blues song. Thought it was an oldie that he covered, but nope: he wrote it.

Frank Marino always had tasty solo's and should have gotten way more recognition.
Agree, his solo on "King Bee" on the Mahogany Rush live album is brilliant !

Other personal favorites from the seventies/eighties :

Ted Nugent "Hibernation" on the "Double live Gonzo" album
Buck Dharma "Astronomy" on the "Some enchanted evening" album, "Veteran of pyschic wars" on "Extraterrestrial live" ; I could mention so many other solos from him ("Burning for you")...
Michael Shenker "Rock bottom" and "Lights out" on UFO's "Strangers in the night"
Uli Jon Roth "Fly to the rainbow" on Scorpions' "Tokyo Tapes"
Point Blank "Penthouse pauper" (anyone know this band ???)
Molly Hatchett "Boogie no more", "Flirtin' with disaster", "Fall of the peacemakers"
Tom Scholz (Boston) "I think I like it"
Al di Meola "Man of leo/Space requiem" on the Go live album
Manfred Mann's Earth band "Father of day, father of night"
Rick Emmett (Triumph) "All the way"
Cinderella "Nobody's fool"
Alvin Lee "Ain't nothin' shakin'" on Ten Years Later live album
Eric Clapton "Double trouble" on "Just one night"

plexi59, you had me discover something really awfully likable, IMHO. Thanks. Enjoyed that solo a damn real lot ... and still am.

To me, it's the kind of solo that makes me wonder if it is all worth it to have intro, singing, chorus and all these stuffs that makes up a good song.It makes me fell like saying: " Go strait to the really fun stuff" (or "Cut the crap out").:lol Only joking, I also like nice an sweet words in songs.

Sorry if it sounds like SoloSophy.:roll
