If anybody here uses the Mission RJM SP-1 Expression Pedal...

A few days ago I purchased a Mission RJM SP-1 Expression Pedal. I was advised that it would work with my Axe-FX II as they were out of stock of the regular SP-1 pedals - plus the LED looked like a cool feature.

But now that I’m looking at it I’m not sure if it’s going to be compatible. Will the RJM SP-1 work with the Axe-FX via the Fractal MFC-101 or any other midi controller with expression jacks?

And, if so, How can I power the switch on/off LED which would normally take power from the RJM? I had assumed it would run on battery power. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Luke

I guess the pedal works fine as an expression pedal.

The LED on the RJM pedal is powered through the jack cable. That's not possible without an RJM controller.

Fixing the power issue may not be the only thing. I doubt that the switch works like a regular switch. The LED is controlled by the RJM controller.

Mission says:
"Thanks for the note. No, the SP1-RJM is designed specifically for use with the RJM products, and will not work when connected directly to the expression pedal inputs on a Fractal Audio Axe-FX or MFC-101. The expression pedal is reverse polarity in the RJM pedal and will not work correctly. For expression function, you could use a polarity reversal adapter such as this https://missionengineering.com/shop-2/products/accessories/xr-polarity-reversal-adapter/.

The LED function will not work as intended. This feature relies on the RJM controller powering the LED and communicating the status information. If you require a switching expression pedal with an LED that works with the Axe-Fx and MFC-101, we have the SP-1 Chris Broderick Signature Edition with LED option available here: https://missionengineering.com/shop...ulti-use-exp/chris-broderick-special-edition/"
