Looking at current shortcomings does not mean it won't be able to overcome them in the short term. Knowledge grows faster and faster.
Will it be used for good? For some time now the only real predator humanity has, is other humans (or sickness). I don't see this changing within our monetary incentive system.

Funny that we we were always told it was manual labour that will become redundant. Those of us with a theoretical education have more to fear IMO. Easier to replace a production planner with software than physical labour which also needs costly mechanics.
No problem however if we're willing to spread the benefits, but I'm skeptical 😁

And is about to create those we don't yet have and further exacerbating ones we already have. Those not in power or with a hand on the scale will get f'd, sidelined, replaced it in the process.

The purported social benefits of personal devices, social media, crypto etc. (e.g. knowledge sharing, transparency and democratization), were naively idealistic or simply self-serving justifications of the creators. It always happens this way: This new tech is the way forward and will solve all the problems.
