Looking at current shortcomings does not mean it won't be able to overcome them in the short term. Knowledge grows faster and faster.
Will it be used for good? For some time now the only real predator humanity has, is other humans (or sickness). I don't see this changing within our monetary incentive system.
Funny that we we were always told it was manual labour that will become redundant. Those of us with a theoretical education have more to fear IMO. Easier to replace a production planner with software than physical labour which also needs costly mechanics.
