Metronome

Would you like a metronome function built into the Axe FX?

I think it would be awesome, no cables, no batteries, you name it. If the axefx has a tuner, why not a metronome? And guys who run it to the pa at rehearsals could use it to keep the whole band tight. No more excuses for that lazy drummer! You could even keep the tempo PER preset/song!

Besides, nearly all the functionality is already there, I mean that tap tempo light. When you tap it, you go to a menu where you can specify bpms, etc. Cliff would only have to add an option to turn metronome sound on or off. And I remember my axefx beeping back in firmware 4.x or 5.x when I had cpu overload, so most of the code is already there.

Can anyone cite a signal processor in the Axe-FX's price range that has a built-in metronome?

A really nice metronome would top off this unit for me. It really would have EVERYTHING I need.

Would it be possible, at least with the Ultra, to use some sort of internal controller to trigger short synth block notes at whatever tempo? I never really play around with this stuff, so I wouldn't really know... :?

Linking this since this is one of the oldest "tricks" someone (baranger1) made on the Axe-Fx...

Also worth a mention... airbus hooked up a synth block to a regular tuner to make the tuner strobe back and forth (Knight Rider K.I.T.T.-style) for a more visual metronome...

Nice!

See, I can think generally that there might be a way, but don't have the patience/intelligence to actually figure it out.

I believe I put my Metronome patch in the patch section a long time ago.
Not sure where the patch site is now but it should be there somewhere.
It worked great.

It would be cool if the author of the thread would set up a poll so we could see how much the axefx community is interested in this feature. I know I am!
