I caught some of it last night here in Oz - we had good clear conditions, no moonlight and our studio is on the very fringe of Sydney so the light pollution wasn't bad.
My girl and I usually sit in the hot tub fr the Perseids and Leonids, but tonight, the East Coast is socked in (as it was last night) with clouds. Bummer.
Man I missed it. I was so exhausted from my gig that I slept right through my alarm. A shower with no moon and no clouds is a rare opportunity. I'll have to check the phase of the moon for the Perseids and start planning now!
I dragged the wife and kids out for about an hour.
It was pretty good, we saw about 10-12 with a fairly long trail.
It was an excellent night for viewing. Clear skies, cool air and no moon! It'a a shame this wasn't a higher frequency shower.
But these do make for great family times!
