Met Tom Quayle and Martin Miller at an Ibanez clinic yesterday

Had a great time yesterday at a guitar clinic where I got to meet Tom Quayle and Martin Miller! I tried one of their new signature AZ models too, but it was not my cup of tea - great instruments though, I only play 8-strings Ibanez and I'm used to the super thin necks so the AZ C-shaped neck felt pretty chunky for my taste. But I'm sure those guitars will feel great to a lot of players. Oh, also their playing was on point! they sounded really good. Friendly guys, nice to meet them.

I got to hang with Tom Quayle earlier this year at a musicians summit. He was a totally down to earth guy. Super humble. And holy shit, that dude can play. His approach to legato is off the hook.

I agree about the necks... I was seriously tempted to buy this guitar after seeing it at my local guitar shop:

They also had another AZ model (blue, HSS, pickguard).

Both were excellent quality and sound, but I couldn't pull the trigger because I'm used to the Wizard necks and these are just too chunky.

I ended up getting a used PRS CE-24 instead ;)

Otherwise, I would compare the two I tried to a "poor man's Suhr".

Miller is amazing. I’m not a huge fan of fusion-y stuff he plays, but his technique is really badass.
