Mesa Boogie 2:90 loud hum with FM3

I’m plugging my FM3 into a 2:90 and getting a really bad hum with the deep mode engaged on the Mesa. Cabs off, power amp sims off, 2:90 on a 4x12. Really simple setup. I’m asking here because if I plug straight into the 2:90 with deep mode, it’s dead silent. Do I need to use humbusters? But plugged into the FX return of a different amp and it’s quiet.

Ground loop. A Humbuster cable is one way to fix it. Before you resort to that make sure everything is plugged into the same power strip and you minimize the loop diameter (bundle all power cables close together).

Update, I grabbed an EbTech Hum X adapter and that killed the hum. I had one of those adapters laying around that switches the plugs from 3 prong to 2, but that's not a permanent safe solution. The Hum X works like a charm.

What should we do if we can´t plug everything in the same power outlet ?
