Men At Work "Overkill" preset

Keith White

Experienced
One of my favorite 80s retro songs is Men At Work's Overkill.
I decided to create a preset for this.
Scene 1 is rhythm
scene 2 is lead 1
scene 3 is the lead with delay at the end of the solo
The solo has a huge chimey chorus effect that I could only recreate using both chorus and flanger.
The guitar is a Fender Stratocaster in the 2nd position

Please let me know what you think

Yes definitely. I toured around in hair cover bands in the 80s. And was in the house band at Club Lavela in Panama City Beach in 1989. Boy was that a fun time in my life.
The presets I'm working on now are
Saga on the loose
Red Skies the fixx
Abracadabra Steve Miller
And infatuation by rod Stewart

My strong point is recreating the unique guitar effects in songs that make the solos stick out. My weak point is guitar Amp cab knowledge so that's why I base my presets off of other presets amp/ cab models that have been shared. If I base any of mine off of anyone else's I will always give credit to that person

Years ago I played in a cover band that did this song ....

I didn't have a delay on my pedalboard at the time ..., so I just schlepped my way through the scale run at the end of the solo .... This makes me want to go back and re-learn it properly !

Man I’ve always loved that album. Great sounding preset. :)

version 2 matched volumes of all my shared presets and a slight adjustment to the overall tone and delay
