Maybe a useful tip for a growly sound - MachineHead inside

Hey guys,
I love the Recto 2 Red Modern, and use it with damping set to 0 but i thought something of the real Recto was missing.
Then i tried to mix 2 identical Amp blocks, one with damping set to 0, the other with damping set to 7, both in the same cab and with a level decrease of 6db in order to maintain the same volume.

The result is heavy !

For comparison purpose, here is the same sound without the trick :

And another with damping at 3.30 (original trick was damping at 6.61 mixed with damping at 0) :

Was this double tracked, or is it one track with two amp blocks? Also, do you think this would work for all high gain amps?

Yes it is double tracked and panned left/right.
Each track is 2 amp blocks, one with damping set to 0, the other with damping at 6.61.
It seems to work good on FAS Modern too, but i think it's recto-based.

After listening to the one with the damping set at 3.5 it definitely seems like a result you could get without resorting to a 2nd amp block. Of course, that's through Soundcloud.

The sound with damping at 3.3 is very different, but not so much in the mix.
But when playing, the trick sounds much pleasant

I guess if the increased cpu usage isn't a problem then that's not really a factor anyway.

Regardless, thanks for the tip and I like the sound your getting.
