Matrix GT1000FX vs Seymour Duncan Power Stage 170

Hey guys! I'll receive my AX8 in a couple days! i have a Engl e840/50 and a old rocktron velocity 120... The first is too heavy.... And the second just don't have enough Power... What u guys think? Should i buy the Matrix or the SD? Sorry for my poor English...greetings from Portugal!

There are many individuals with different opinions on this.
For me it really comes down whether you need stereo or can live with mono.

The Matrix has stereo outputs and the SD170 has one cab output.
In my experience both have enough power to drive a 4X12 or two for the Matrix.
No worries about power.
2 other things:
SD170 has EQ controls
SD170 is smaller and useable on a pedalboard, where the Matrix is rack mount only.


Really depends on your needs. I ended up with both, yet seem to use the SD170 more these days.
