Matrix GT1000FX Amp failure and Customer Support

Very long time Matrix user, have the GT1000FX 1U and 2 x NL212.
It is a killer setup! had so many amps and cabs but this combo is going with me to the grave!
I have the amp since 2013, I cant even count how many rehearsals and live gigs I've used it.
Never failed, always delivered at its best.
Sorry to hear your bad experience. In general these products are solid!
 
I would debate the notion that it is a solid product. There are numerous cases of people, in this thread, who have bought power amps having issues or failing big time. Some of those people received support from the company and some didn't. Either way. Buyer beware.
 
I know this is an older thread but I didn’t want to create a new one when this one has so much good info in it.

My Matrix went down back in October, I was lucky enough to buy a backup here in the forums so I at least have something to work with now. The problem is they’ve had my amp since October. (I actually had the original one for a few weeks and it crapped out so they replaced it with the one that’s sitting there now for repairs.) They no longer respond to emails and the phone calls are never answered.

Has anyone dealt with them recently? Are they actually out of business now?

I am honestly sorry that you are experiencing this problem. I could not believe it when I was dealing with it. But I lost about $1000 to them. Since I bought the Crown XLi3500 from Sweetwater, I have had no issues. I just had to be willing to cut my losses with Matrix. And I know that if I do need support, that I can get good customer support from Sweetwater. This is not an advertisement, just a solution that has worked for me! I still get angry when I think of how bad Matrix turned out to be. But thank GOD all that is done with! I wish you all the best.
 
How long ago did you buy it and how did you pay for it? I paid for mine with PayPal. It went down after a couple months. Sent it back, they go silent for months, I went through PayPal to get my money back as it was under 180 days. That’s your only chance at this point with those guys. There’s nothing special about those amps regardless what the internet says. Buy something from a reputable company that’s not some shady character operating out of his garage.

Had some minor issue that was probably because of a maufacturing spec that had changed since I bought them a couple of years apart. The volume tapers were not the same on each amp. In other words one amp the volume would be at 12noon and the other amp might be between 1 and 2 to achieve the same volume output. After contacting them and inquiring about it they sent me 2 brand new units that were matched , no charge..just had to send the old ones back. That was a few years ago and so far no issues... I was quite taken back about how accomodating they were.

had the same taper mismatch issue with mine, but not bad enough to send it back. No issues in light use over about 10 years, but I find it a bit sterile sounding like previous much cheaper SS stereo power amps I owned (Art SLA, Rocktron Velocity 300).
 
I think we need to establish whether this is the US or UK customer service . My experience with a major fail in the UK was good, quick turn around but it did fail with virtually no use. It has been fine since.

This is the same as me here in the U.K., my gt1000fx is bedroom use only for me now, just didn’t work one day. Quick response via email customer support (though I think I spoke to an American), shipped to U.K. facility and repaired. Full turnaround was about a week, near Christmas last year. Been fine since.
 
I posted above that the repair of my GT1000 was taking a long time. Just wanted to add they did eventually come through and fixed it for free out of warranty.
