Master Vol Settings.

Just curious. With the ultra, it was generally said that with high gain amps, place the Master @ 5.0. Is that still the consensus?

For high gain sounds like 5150, recto new, and faS modern I SeT them at 3.50 I hit the front of the amp with a ts 808 mod with level max and gain at zero. I use a filter between the amp to tighten things up s bit then I start palm muting with one hand and adjusting the gain until it's perfect.. I don't want it to fart our or loose definition all amps will take more or less gain in the amp block. for vintage Amos like plexi 2 I set the master at 10 and use the gain to control the volume, u can get clean tones or overdriven tones as well I usually don't use a drive with the plexi though. One model that you can set the master volume anywhere you want and generally get good results are the Marsha sims you just have to be carefull of where you set the gain. Generally the higher you set the master the lower the gain should be
