MAster of Puppets interlude

Does anyone have a preset for the harmonizer for the interlude to Puppets? I know most of it is E minor 3rds but a note or 2 are different. I don't know much about harmonizing in general. Plus I am extremely new to the Axe Fx. Which I am loving btw. I am just now getting comfortable getting great tones. So I figured I'd ask if anyone has a preset they could share for that harmony. Thanks in advance!

You would have to alternate between two scales, which means hitting a foot switch each time between the descending arpeggio part and the ascending scalar lick with the accidentals. Or, set up a backing track and record the harmony to play along with you. Or get a second guitarist. ;)

It's possible using custom shift mode, playing the lower part, no extra switching needed within the part.

This preset requires 2 custom scales configured at the Global: Scales menu.

Custom scale 1:

A +3
A# +3
B +4
C +4
C# +4
D +4
D# +3
E +3
F +3
F# +3
G +4
G# +3

Custom scale 2:

Same as 1 except B +3

Filter block uses pitch as bypass modifier source, engaging to switch from voice 1 to 2 above A5. (The switch point could actually be anywhere between B4 and B5 with these scale setttings.) This works due to pitch voices panned L/R, filter pan L/R set to swap channels, cab block input select = left.

Holy smokes Bakerman, that's great. Thanks a lot! OP will be pleased.

ha. amazing job man

That's exactly what I'm saying !!! :)

Oh okay! I thought you were saying by "first harmony", the first voice in the harmony, aka Hetfield's line, and that the "second harmony" was the second voice. Now that I re-read it's obvious what you meant due to the mention of the B7 chord. My bad! :lol

Bakerman your patch is great! but I tried to copy the filter to a dual amp dual cab patch and could not get the filter to toggle the scales as in your patch, so I discovered you can also do this in the pitch block. you can connect the pitch modifier directly to the scale select. Thank you for the knowledge!

That's a nice trick I hadn't considered. The filter toggle should have worked if you set input select = left in the cab block it's running to. Or if you placed pitch/filter before amp for possibly better results, use amp input select.

that is probably it right there! The patch I put it in is 1 amp and cab to the left and 1 amp and cab to the right and I think I put the pitch block and filter under the Right channel amp(trying to separate like 2 totally separate guitars). I did not even think about the left right thing(Duh!!!). well I just keep learning so all is good!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing!

I've tried it already and my way of doing it was to assign the expression pedal to modify the scale of the pitch block while playing. pedal down to E minor, pedal up to E harm minor. It works whatever the voice you choose to play.

Yeah I tried that too and it downloaded the syx file but couldn't get it to upload to the axe. I have a few that I got off of axechange also that say Axe Fx II not XL and FW 19 which I have and updated to but doesn't show when importing via axe edit. But some others I have do. Do I need to try to reinstall FW 19

Yeah I can see it in the folder but when I import I still stays blank no error message just as if there were no preset in that slot. I will download this and try it tomorrow I am moving things around and unhooked everything right now.
