Mac record video + Axe-Fx + app audio

Hey,

Relative noob here, and complete amateur guitarist. I'd like to record videos of myself jamming along to backing tracks on my Mac, and am wondering what's the easiest way? I'm playing through my Axe FX and would like to use the Mac (linked via USB) to record video, the audio of from the Axe FX (so far so good) *and* a backing track. I haven't been able to get this last bit working, even though the Mac is happily sending the backing track audio to the Axe FX and monitors along with the guitar signal from the Axe FX itself. Seems like it should be possible. What am I missing? (Audio preferences on Mac have Axe FX set as both input and output).

Thanks in advance,
Cliff

Its not a simple solution, but its easy, you will need 2 applications to do so, Soundflower and Loopback. Look them up and do the reading to understand how to connect virtually any audio signal from one app to another.
