I did a little tribute to the master, and to my first guitar teacher from back in my high school days. Don was a big inspiration to many of us getting started in the local scene here, and one key thing that I got from him was to take the inspiration and give it your own spin, and play things straight from the heart. Now that I'm back in my old home town I'm hoping our paths will cross and maybe have a chance to jam one day.
This is not something where I meticulously tried to match the tone or even the playing of Jimi, just took the basic idea and did what I felt like doing. It's always been one of my favorite Hendrix songs, and I kinda dig the way this came out. All I can say is I think Jimi would have appreciated the Axe-FX III.
