Axe-Master
I watched this with my girls. We had high hopes here.
I should set this up for those who are not in the US, and wouldn't be caught dead watching this. It was a combination of the movie, and live stage sequences with various folks in key roles.
Boy what a flat performance. Auliʻi Cravalho did her best (great voice), but it just didn't quite work. The guy who played Eric was okay, but seemed like he was picked because he was purty, not for that incandescent vocal talent.
Queen Latifa (VERY solid) and John Stamos looked like the only ones who had fun here. Stamos quite frankly performed like he understood the absurdity of it all...and enjoyed himself on the process.
They could have chopped this down into an hour...we know they story...no need to have extended movie sequences. All in all...an expensive fail on Disney's part.
