Linked amps and parameters on AX8

Some of you may not have been on the forum long enough to remember the global blocks discussion back when the AX8 was released. Cliff was very clear that it was not going to happen. IIRC, he did mention the possibility of implementing it for the amp block only, but that never happened.

At this point, I'd rather see them devote development time to the next generation AX8 product.

The CPU comparison chart seems to make it pretty clear that the AX8 is just not capable of the same functionality of the AxeFX II, let alone the AxeFX III. https://www.fractalaudio.com/iii/

yea lots of people were not around when he released that. It is wild to think that he got the Ax8 to sound just like the II with that much less power. Maybe this chart will help people understand why someone we hit a CPU block with FX but the amp always sounds killer

I'm thinking that Global Blocks is more a matter of storage then processing power. The Global Blocks need to be saved in a common repository that is hit when the preset (that uses a Global Block) is loaded. I'm sure it uses some CPU (everything does) but I'd bet it's no where near the overhead of second instance of a block, for example.

Regardless the AX-8 wasn't designed for Global Blocks so I do it it will get them.
