Levels between cab block and no cab block

Hi there

I'm running my rig through a Matrix GT1600 + NL12 cabs through output 2, where as output 1 goes direct to FOH. Both sounds great now.

OK, my challenge it, the CAB block adds some volume to the output comparing level meter on out 1 vs 2 in the utility menu. The volume is different from one cab to to another as I see it... Therefore I have been fighting preset levels a bit more than I should, because I set them up to FOH and the output 2 has variated (the one I hear the most)

is there any theory why and how much a cab block adds? Just looking for an easy way to fine tune it? Or is it another reason for the vol difference than the cab?

The level difference depends on the IR(s) used. You could adjust either cab or FXL send level (row level or "main" slider, not block output level). Cab level would ensure levels match well if you reused a cab setting in a new preset. If you just need to fine-tune a group of presets already level-matched at Out 1, it may be easier to adjust FXL level. For the FXL method to work, the routing needs to branch to FXL rather than have it in series before cab.
