Let's see those FM9 rigs!

Got everything ordered to get my board together. Spring loaded Mission Engineering EP-1, Fractal EV-1, some TRS cables and jacks to cut to length.

I'll be getting the pedalboard/roadcase via GOMC Cases, as they aren't brutally expensive for exactly what I'm looking for. https://gomc.tv/

I think I might go back to a wireless system again, so I've got to figure that out before I blow $600 on a pedalboard/case and can't fit the receiver on it after. :tearsofjoy:

Thanks for the tip on those custom cases. How do you intend to attach the FM9 to the board?

I'll remove the sides and then stick a shit ton of 3M Dual Lock under it. I've held down quite a lot of stuff with that, my FC6 is mounted that way and I had a Ground Control Pro mounted like that for 15 years. I think with enough strips of it, I should be good to go. I don't forsee anyone else handling my gear in my future, so if it's just me picking it up and out of the case, I'm not worried about testing the durability of the Dual Lock by flipping the board upside down.

Just received my FM9 a couple days ago. I am using Pelican 1535 AIR case with custom made foam. Got a little compartment under the FM9 for power cable and/ TRS cable. But no space for expression pedal, but it's not a biggie to me since I can put it in gig bag or the backline will always provide to me If I requested :D

I was using the same case for AX8 and FM3/FC6 setup before as well..They all fit perfectly too

I got around to adding something to The Monster (that's what I call my studio rack) today that I've been meaning to add for-ev-ah now: some analog pedals!

And I tested all the wiring and built out the sliding shelf of pedals using my FM9. Output 3 on the FM9 does unity gain at maximum output which makes it perfect for using with pedals in a switchable loop. I had a Control Switch assigned to toggle a MUX so I could move from the loop of pedals to no loop while I was setting the levels on the pedals themselves so they'd maintain a consistent volume across the chain.

It was super fun to play with analog pedals again! That front row is particularly special. And the FM9 handled them all like a champ!

My initial plan was to put together the live rig over the next couple months, but that sped up pretty fast when I joined the Floyd tribute band this weekend. The only way I had to power a cab was slaving a Peavey XXL head into it, so I grabbed a Powerstage 170 (I'm diggin it!) and I'll just use this old Line 6 2x12 until I grab the two Mesa 2x12's. The cabs got WGS Retro 30's in it, which is like a V30 without the harshness. They can certainly cover some ground.

The EV-1 showed up today, I've got a ME EP-1 coming as well (that should have been here by now) and the only real decisions left to make are if I'm going wireless with this or not (most likely) and how I'm going to power both the 2x12's when I get them. I'll be able to put the 170 through it's paces this week, I'm pretty sure I'm either doing another one or the PS-700. I probably should have just ordered that to begin with.....damnit....I don't know why I didn't think of that until now.

I've barely gotten to play my Fractal stuff through a cabinet, only once in a band setting and it wasn't a good time (because the people, not the gear...the gear was the only good thing), so I'm anxious to really crank up and hear this stuff at live volume. I turned off the cab modeling globally so I could just go through presets to hear how they are through this cab and I really don't have any concerns. With a minor amount of tweaking my presets, I'll be good to go.
