Lets Dance by David Bowie delay

Hello friends, has anyone figured out how to setup the delay for "Lets Dance" by David Bowie Niles Rogers version....I am getting mixed info....thanks much....Rich

I watched a video of Niles, and he said Bob Clearmountain added the delays in post. What struck me about that, is that Niles thought the dry part would sound good, and that's what he played. Can't imagine it without the delays we all know.

Try this

Scene 1 - Intro (ahhh ahh ahhh ahhhhhh) and ( "if you say run... I'll run to you")
Scene 2 - Verse with the delays (3 down strokes and let the delays do the work)
Scene 3 - Verse with 1Db boost (in scene level)
Scene 4 - Verse with 2dB of boost
Scene 5 - Solo

I use the neck pickup on a MusicMan Luke 3 which has active pickups so you may wish to turn the gain up in the amp block. It is also using dual delay so you would need to be in stereo.

Also - take note

1. the Bpm needs to be at 114
2. Its Cygnus 16.04 :)

Have fun !

He only played the lead on the track. Nile played all the other guitar on the album including the iconic rhythm part on Let’s Dance.
Hmm. Good to know. I also remember stuff around a falling out with Bowie as well leading to him leaving the tour.
It was for the best.
