Let’s see those Les Pauls!

Just got this in, I've been wanting one since they came out. Fantastic guitar light and resonant, chunky neck but not overly so (and I have big hands so it doesn't bother me). 1st time I've ever had a guitar w a relic finish, I know there not everyone's cup of tea but I do dig them and it is pretty cool in person. ill have to spend a bit more time with the bridge pickup not sure if Im diggin it. Now for Pics

Nice guit!! I’ve been close to ordering a Friedman for a long time now, as I’ve heard nothing but great things about them. Love the look of their headstock too! Just cool....

While everything was already out, did the same for the two switches in my Strat.

Also added series/parallel pull-pot switching to the 245, as well as a phase switch toggle, so in-phase is now a possibility when both pickups are selected.

The pickups in the 245 sound amazing in parallel also, giving almost Fender-y top end and slightly scooped low mids.... :)

Here's an Exploreresque guitar I've been working on. IMG_20200229_211543.jpg
All dressed up in the colors of the Eldar craftworld of Ulthwé from Warhammer 40K.

Guitarfetish Vintage 59 PAF style pickups. Lower horn toggle switch is a killswitch, as is the volume pot which is a Shadow Kill Pot. This is also my first attempt at recreating a sunburst style paintjob. Which turned out to be quite a nightmare as I mistakenly used alcyd paint instead of acrylic, with the former being oil based and the later water based. And the two don't mix as I discovered during the finishing process. The Eldar rune next to the bridge is a decal, all the other runes were drawn by my brother, who unlike me has a steady hand,

The neck I bought off eBay, somewhere in China. Which was why I had to do some hefty work on the nut because the high E kept slipping out of its slot. Originally both the Eldar and Ulthwé runes were decals, but when the alcyd paint reacted badly to acrylic lacquer I had to sand it off and let my brother draw it by hand.

I’ll play. Here’s my #1 case-queen. A very rare and very mint condition 1993 Ibanez S540 OL. I owned the exact guitar back in 1991 and unfortunately traded it for another guitar that I never got comfortable with. I’ve owned several others of this exact model over the last 10 years, but recently found this one that was NOS and literally never played:

And here’s my #1 player at the moment. A 2017 Fender American Professional Strat with solid rosewood neck:

Great choice!!!

Cliff, you can actually use the same play that I use with my wife.

I walk in with a new guitar - pull it out and throw it on the multi-stand in my office.
Wife - what's that?
Me - oh, it's a guitar (Jim) Harper let me borrow.
Wife - ok, what are we having for dinner.

....2 months later, she doesn't remember which guitar is which.
