Anyone have a les paul with a swiss cheese 9 hole weight relief? i have a custom on order and worried about it being light? thanks

Your custom has weight relief? Isn't that unusual? My classic has 9 hole weight relief and that's a must for me. It would be too uncomfortable otherwise.

Mine is 8.5 lbs, which is a bit on the light side for a classic, but that's why I bought that specific one. I had a 9.5 lb one, but I found that uncomfortable. In addition to being heavy, I found it hard to balance when playing sitting down.

sucks they didnt post the weight of this custom or answer my email lmao will have to post how much it weighs whenever it arrives

That's a nice looking guitar at a great price. In my experience, if you compare classic with 9 hole weight relief to standard/custom models without weight relief, they weigh about the same. The only thing I can figure is they use denser mahogany on the weight-relieved guitars.
You'll find quite a range of weights within a single model though. The modern models with modern weight relief weigh considerably less than classic/standard/customs. In addition to the modern weight relief, it also has a thinner body.

Total randy rhoads vibes been dreaming of it for years

My Standard has 9 hole and it comes in a little over 9lbs
Thats why they drilled it. These are a lot better than the large chambered ones in terms of sounding like an original but classic Les Paul tones are solid body and you can hear it in some quite easily.

Yes, when buying Les Pauls I seek out 9hole models. Give some weight relief while still maintaining the solid body tone. I own one chambered les paul a 2006 Standard Faded, it still sounds great, just a different vibe to it than my others.2006 Standard Faded 3.jpg

excellent guitar. feels unreal
