LB-2 with 120 watt amps?

I know the manual states that I shouldn't use amps that have a higher wattage than 100 watts.
But what if I only turn up the master to say 3-4?
Will I still hurt the LB-2 and/or the amp if I don't max out the master volume?
Has anyone tried the LB-2 with amps that have a higher wattage than 100?
