Actually considering to add a lapsteel to my "catalog". Anybody already tried or known artists using axe fx II ? Recommendations for patches ?
 
Pretty much anything that works for regular guitar tones. I mostly use Fender or Plexi models depending on the tone I’m after.

Might want to set up a volume pedal effect with an ext pedal, and compressors can help, but nothing too different.

Patches I like with my tele I like with my steels and vice versa
 
He had some really nice clips, super talented. Don’t think he’s using anything special amp wise, but is a very sweet old Fender 8 string which probably would run about a grand. I have a George Boards 8 string which is pretty nice playing and sounding, but without the vintage Fender price tag.

There is a Lessons with Troy series that shows some nice lap steel stuff for starting out. He has paid stuff too but some good free ones on Youtube


Also check out Ben Harper. He plays a lot of electric these days, but is amazing on the steel too
 
Perfect, there's some Harpers lying around for 5 euros piece in our local music shop, will get me some of these. Actually had an offer for 6 string lapsteel, not sure many 8 string around here in France. Can't put in too much for this.
