KSR Gemini channel changes via FX8 MKI

Ok, got my amazing KSR Gemini and FX8 MKI. I have the FX8 hooked from MIDI OUT/THRU to MIDI IN on the KSR. I’ve read through the manual of both and can’t seem to work it out.

The KSR says to simply select your setting per preset, and then hit store, which I have done. However, nothing actually changes with the amp when changing presets, and honestly, I don’t think anything is happening at all. Anyone want to help walk me through this trip down the rabbit hole?
 
Do you have the FX8 setup to send program change commands (PC) on channel 16? The manual for the KSR amp says that is the default MIDI channel for that amp.
