While absolutely love vintage guitars, it does not fit at all with Metallica. James needs his Explorer and Kirk needs his Jackson V. Period!!!!! That's the image of Metallica IMO. 1985 baby!!!!

When I watch a live video I can’t really tell a difference between the Green LP and his Frankenstein or Ouija which have EMGs. I’m sure there is one but in a live mix I wouldn’t know in a blind test.

Does Kirk ever use it like Peter did? The tone he got with the neck p/u that was wired ass backwards is an awesome blues sound. (I think that's how the story goes). I think he used a Sun and that Les Paul. I've only seen a few videos with him using it but he's playing hi-gain stuff. I'm inspired to dig into Gary Moore's use of it. Gary made everything sound good though.
