Hi all if I have a clean sound to start with on my strat guitar
And now I want to turn up the gain I notice the volume gets louder
How do I just change the sound but keep the volume at the same level as before adding the gain?

ok is this correct on a clean tone setting

the Input Drive is the "Gain" where I turn up the distortion
and by turning down that level this will lower voumle but not change tone

drive.pngSo here I just adjust the "Drive" to get more or less Distortion on the"RAT Dist"
and use the"Mix" knob to get more or less of the dry clean tone that I started with?

Yes, but note that you can also increase (or reduce) the effective distortion from the amp with the Level control of the Drive block.

This is because you are boosting the level going into to amp, which causes the input to distort.

i'm trying to figure out what exactly you're trying to achieve. are you trying to "morph" from a clean to dirty tone? if that's the idea, then set up two amp blocks in parallel (one clean, one dirty) with volume blocks after them and do a crossfade
