Just tried a Tone X One

Dumb question here but I currently run the stereo Y cable from this tone x one into my Yamaha monitors. I don’t have a mixer so I can’t have both my FM9 and Tone x connected to these speakers at the same time. Couldn’t I just run the two 1/4 LR inputs into the FM9 input 2 and just create a preset with input 2 and output 1 as the only thing on the grid? That way I can have both devices connected at the same time out of the same set of speakers.

Just put T1 in FM9's loop as described in the manual here - (no amp block needed of course).

That it is.
It is a sign that developers never use their product. Like Google doesn't use Google for Business or Microsoft stays away from latest versions of Windows. Same shit for IK Multimedia.
You know, it's gotta be a sign of a serious lack of Fs given. Every real developer i know OWNs what they put out, and they want it to kick. Of course there can be other constraints, time being the big one, plus peoplepower, cost, complexity, technical factors etc. But if a company consistently fails to deliver passible software, there's just nobody caring enough.

As a customer, you almost owe it to the universe to move on to greener pastures. Reward the good ones, ditch the crap.

I dont find it that bad, I just got a tonex one just for the hell of it and as a backup or very small rig. Fractals are still my main. Have it paired with an Airstep tx, was up and running fine in about 20-30minutes. That said I havent found any stock captures that I like a lot yet, granted I havent been through many yet. But, it will work great as a backup or when a very small footprint is required. I also havent tied making any caputers or downlaoding any 3rd party yet, so we will see how that goes.

Except it's not crap - I use it all the time - can there be improvements? yes of course - like everything, but a lot the comments here are simply waay over the top - same as we see here with Axefx UI.

Fair, good to hear even, I've never tried it, just going off comments here.

And i agree, some criticisms of the Fractal UI just sound like people who never bothered to learn the tool. Which no one is obligated to do, but you get what you pay for.

I'm sorry to say but it really is. Definitely not over the top opinions about it. If I'd be an external contractor during QA, I'd made a living from the ToneX and connected infrastructure alone. And usability is insanely bad. Can you get used to it? Sure, I did, as many others. But it is real bad out there (c)

What really blows my mind about the IK platform is in less time than it would take to buy a $25 amp capture and load it onto the tonex, I can build a better sound in the axefx and retain the ability to turn the knobs on the amp for different situations, move the mics around, etc, and not be stuck with one static capture of the amp.

I didn't try the toneX and i am not interested to do it.
I can report a similar experience with the UA Enigmatic....is just a stupid design. On the APP you can only setup parameters that you can't access directly from the pedal, and on the pedal each knob has a secondary function which makes no sense.

I just don’t see the appeal of the platform or the ridiculous trend chasing that comes with it. There are people actually running two tonex ones, loaded with hundreds of dollars of “premium amp captures,” into a pointless $250 stereo line isolator because apparently DIs haven’t been good enough to handle line level signals for the last 70+ years.
The crazy setups with like, two smaller tone x ones with a larger one and weird little midi pedals and stuff seems really over the top. I agree - I don’t get it

heart wrenching accounts of horrific usability pain and suffering
I feel like it's not those who "bash" IKM are doing it "over the top" but the defenders... :)
Anyways, if the UI occasionally overwrites the preset when asked to swap - yeah, the developers really don't care. It is my experience, ymmv yada yada.

Sarcastic, but fitting for descriptives like: "crap", "abomination", "clusterF@$", "insane","Horrible" ... 🤣

Tx defender? - not really - check here), but defence of a reasonably fair discussion on the thing seems right (tall order I guess).

Edit (JNC Vid from an hr ago - showcasing the .. "crap" 🤔)

Well, in more than one thread I recommend TO as a backup to Fractal, so calling me a "basher" would be "over the top".
But it's software IS glitchy, poorly designed, not well maintained, etc. If I'm raising it here it is not really bashing.

FWIW; TX-One makes much more sense than the full size turd. Horrible (and limited) effects with a bright orange clock radio display. Yuck.
Not to mention that the full sized Tonex pedal doesn't allow you to use it as an audio interface and play guitar captures at the same time! You have to click a software switch to change between one of the other. What the hell were they thinking?
