It would be really helpful if you posted a small sample clip recorded direct, so we can get an idea of what it sounds like. I'm not aware of the low-gain patches you referenced, but if they were posted in a similar fashion to this one, that may be why you haven't gotten much response. Just speaking for myself, I'm far less likely to try someone else's patch if I haven't heard a clip of it first.
