Maybe once we get a little device like this to attach to our guitar we'll be able to get closer.

I was reading about the JTM50, and it turns out this particular amp has a split cathode topology. Maybe this is why the JTM50 is a lot less fizzier than the JTM45, while keeping the same thumpy bass response due to the high negative feedback?

Yeah that. I almost got one years ago, and the new model seems a lot better feature-wise. Cobby maybe, but a cool idea.

Not really. If I was really in the market for one I'd prefer the transducer was a lot smaller. I wouldn't want to mount that control box on my guitar either.

I'm with you on the control box. I think it's not a permanent thing, but still.
But if the alternative is swapping your cool neck pickup for a crappy one, and only being able to use it on that one guitar, maybe.
But also maybe not worth the hassle.

Their demos have an absurd amount of sustain, but honestly, they just leave me cold.
Or maybe it's been a long week and I'm burnt.
