I always flash back to those who thought 'If I get <insert artists> settings, I'll sound like him/her' and marvel about that innocence. We might be able to emulate closely, but never satisfyingly mimic that tone another set of (talented) fingers pulls from an amp.

Get close, play the best you can, and enjoy.

The SM7B is awesome. More "rounded" and the proximity effect is a little bit different. It's like an SM57 which does not cut your head off on the higher frets
