Ibanez J-Porn

Man, you almost never see single coil EMGs on production guitars these days. It’s refreshing to see. HSS guitars in general almost always come with synchronized trems only now, so I love the noiseless single coil - HSS - locking trem combination. This is like the 80s with class. Plus it looks like it might be a nice anti-break volute there at the headstock, though maybe that’s common on these. Anyway, I love it!

If I haven't bought the RG8570CST recently I would have grabbed this one. As you say, perfect pup combination and with the Lo-Pro Edge

And one other aspect never present on major manufacturer HSS guitars with trems: great upper fret access. Though that goes without saying on just about any Ibanez, most HSS guitars these days are one degree off from being a genuine Strat with an enormous heel and the 22nd fret blocked off by an elite doorman who makes you contort your fretting hand to reach it.

Assuming that's Koa it is about like the various (non-Ibanez) Reb Beach signature guitars: HSS EMG, Koa, gold hardware...

Man, I wanted a Voyager so badly for the longest time. I still think it's the coolest looking thing. And those things were 22 frets with a tremendous lower bout cutaway...just so perfect.

Reb said somewhere that only the first year (or two) were good - the natural finished ones.

Never seen one in person but they're intriguing.

I find the cut on the Reb Beach body awful 😅

I'd love to have one of those J customs... but after all the import duties and taxes in Europe they ask for 7000 €...
Pieces of art but a little bit pricey

Sadly, Hoshino is not taking custom orders. I wanted to commission a fixed bridge, 628mm scale build with that finish. Some day...
