Do you use light gage or heavy gage skins on your bongos?

I prefer to actually go really thick ones, they gel better with lower tuned guitars, just gotta find that perfect tension for lots of high end snap/crack.
Then for micing up I like a 45 degree angle right on the rim blended in with something like a sure sm7b actually underneath and inside the bongo itself which adds a rich body and sub.
