Is anybody in here using the RMJ gt22

belfast

Inspired
I have the axe 3 and have just bought a gt22 as fractals fc12 is to small and probably not even close to be for sale in EU, here is the thing: I have always loved the fact that i could use a normal XLR cable from my axe fx2 to my MFC 101 what is the best and most sturdy way with the axe 3 and gt22
It has to be strong as hell as it lives a life on the road....? XLR 6pin
and a fantompower but if im not in US where will i get the right parts

found this : http://www.loopersparadise.de/en/index.php?p=1766#Foto1 but think its a bit pricy for what it is...
Could i just solder a 7 pin midi to https://www.thomann.de/dk/neutrik_nc6_fdl1_b.htm
and solder a psu to that and then run a 6 pin xlr to my gt22 ???

please bring as many european links as possible

cheers guys

Yes I have the GT22.
I assume you’re interested in phantom power for the GT?
If so I would highly recommend buying them from RJM; it’s easy & very fair price. I bought mine in Australia.
You will need the junction box that has both midi in & out & power.

Please let me know your thoughts on the GT pedal, Iam considering a GT-16 or a FAMC (I think the X-System will be out before the F.C.
Like you I’m fed up with waiting for the elusive F.C.
But I also think if I get GT or a Liquid MC it will operate anything - when the Axe IV comes out I already have a pedal. :)

This is what I used:

This is similar to what I use: http://www.rocktron.com/rocktron-midi-cable-5-to-7-pin.html

I made my own cable out of cat6 Network cable. I bought a 7pin male connector and a 5pin male connector. I cut the end off the power adapter and connected it to the extra cables on the 5pin side of the cable.

Here's the pinout of a MIDI cable: http://wiki.fractalaudio.com/axefx2/index.php?title=FAMC_Liquid_Foot+#MIDI_IN.2FOUT_Pinout_Specs_for_5pin_and_7pin

I was able to make a few cables for cheap and because it's cat6 cable, it seems a lot stronger than cat5. Also, depending on how long the cable is, you may need to get a power adapter with more amps. I think I ended up getting a 2amp power adapter.

You will need this: https://shop.rjmmusic.com/phantom-power-adapter-din7f-two-inputs/
+ 2 short 5pin midi cable to connect the Axe to the box
+ 1 long 7pin midi cable that will connect the GT22 to the box.
the box + its power adapter is mounted in the back of the rack, all you take out to the GT22 is the single 7pin midi cable.

Just dont like midi cables they dont seem as sturdy as a XLR 6pin remember in the old days,
when I was using vg systems with GK pickups those cables had alot of faults...
I think i make my frontpanel like the one i have, just with 6 pin xlr instead.. i have 4 outputs usb might add another input/output I could rent that out to the other guitar player in the band so he could sound better .. and now when i come to think i could rent out another in/out to the bassplayer : -)
